General Description
- Globally accepted as one of the most trusted chemical agents used for fire suppression systems, FK-5-1-12 is not only effective at suppressing fires, it is also the most environmentally friendly agent available.
- FK-5-1-12 extinguishes by removing heat from a fire. When the proper concentration of agent is discharged through SRI’s Streamex system, the mixture of agent and air has a heat capacity larger than that of air and this mixture absorbs the heat factor of a fire triangle, preventing combustion from occurring.
- It has zero ozone depletion potential, an extremely short atmospheric lifetime and is not targeted for any regulatory restrictions, making it a sustainable fire suppression solution for our customer’s needs. It is stored as a liquid but when discharged through a nozzle, it is distributed through the protected area as a colourless, electrically non-conductive gas vapour. It also has a much lower use concentration than its No Observable Adverse Effects Level (NOAEL), giving it the added advantage of the protected area being safe for people.
